CENTRAL OPEN 2006

The popular "Central Open" was held at the Sauchie Hall near Alloa in Scotland at the weekend. We have not received all the details yet, but the  results of the finals were as follows:

Mens  Singles;     John Robertson (East Stirling)  3  Ross Montgomery (East Renfrewshire) 2

Ladies Singles:     Lynn Cowan (Lanarkshire)  3  Christine Jenkins (East Stirling)  0

Under 21 Singles: Ritchie George (Essex)  3  Scott Campbell (Grampian)  2

SUCCESS FOR BDO YOUTH IN CENTRAL SCOTLAND OPEN

16 year-old RICHIE GEORGE – youngest son of Bobby George - won the Central Scotland Open Under-21 event, played at Sauchie Hall, Alloa over Easter Weekend, when he beat Scotland’s Scott Campbell 3-2 in a keenly contested final between the two talented youngsters.

Scott has recently been named in the Scotland team for the WDF Europe Cup Youth tournament to be played in Bremen, Germany from July 13 to 16, and the win means that Richie is following in the footsteps of Stephen Bunting, another highly talented BDO youngsters, who won the inaugural event in 2005. A darts player since he was a toddler, Richie is currently playing for Essex Youth and his consistency has kept him top, or near the top of the under-18’s averages all season.
