A new Professional Darts Team has seen the light of day in the Netherlands. The team, consisting of Mervyn King, Ted Hankey, Vincent van der Voort, and Jelle Klaasen will be known as "Keukenconcurrent Pro Darts Team". The team will be promoted by B & H Events and sponsored by Keukenconcurrent which is the largest producer of fitted kitchens in the Netherlands. Besides promoting themselves and their sponsors the team will be operating special darts courses and clinics throughout the Netherlands which will be available to young and aspiring dart players. HONOURS FOR CLARE AND TRINA

The Golden Girls of England darts, TRINA GULLIVER and CLARE BYWATERS have completed a highly successful year for women’s darts by being named ‘Team Of The Year’ in the 2005 BBC TV South Sports Awards. They were deserved winners of the prestigious award following their outstanding achievement in winning the WDF

World Cup title in Perth, Australia in October.

They successfully defended the title that they won in France in 2003, and not only did they collect the Women’s World Cup title for England, but Clare was WDF World Cup Singles Gold Medallist and Trina was Silver Medallist. To complete their medal haul, both were WDF World Cup Pairs Gold Medallists.

“We are so pleased to have won this award, because it recognises the strength of women’s darts on the world stage”, says England captain Trina Gulliver. “It also represents personal success for me and Clare, and we can’t wait to get to Lakeside for the World Professional Darts Championships in January.

“This latest award is icing on the cake of a great year of darts awards and titles for the two of us”.

The first ever Midlands TV Sports Personality Of The Year, Trina has recently been named ‘Sportswoman Of The Year’ in the inaugural Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire Sports Awards, so the BBC South title represents a great hat-trick of sports awards for a player regarded as the most successful women’s darts player of all time.

Now she and Clare are looking forward to being in action on the opening day of the BBC televised Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships on January 7th, 2006.

Clare is Seeded No.4 and Trina is No.1 Seed and undefeated five times Lakeside Women’s World Professional Champion.
