DUTCH OPEN YOUTH 2008

The Open Dutch Youth usually stands for top quality darts and this year was no exception. A total of 302 young dart players produced a great show with some excellent darts. A good example of the high standard at this tournament was exhibited by Jeffrey Stigter. He threw an amazing 29 point per dart in his final against Lesley Geertsma. Really great to see such high averages at a youth tournament.

In the Girls Singles Kristie Struker won the title, as she has done in almost every tournament she has entered this year. Runner-up was Engand's Zoe Jones, who knocked out Laura Schudde, Lynn Poolen and Nikita van de Meulen. Also a great achievement. Other “foreign” influences came from Scotland and Belgium this year, with some nice achievements by the Belgium girls.

In the Youth up to 13 category 64 contestants fought for the title. In the end Santino Broers claimed the title. He beat Ryan Wilmink in the final.

The winners in the Youth till 18 and Girls not only received good prizes for their achievements, they also won all expenses paid trips to the Winmau World Masters later this year.
