Brought to you by the World Darts Federation, April 2022 will see a welcome return of televised darts to the Lakeside Country Club. Broadcast live across the Eurosport and Discovery+ network from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 10th April, we invite you to be part of the WDF World Championships and its unique atmosphere at "the Home of World Darts, the Lakeside!"

Tickets are on sale via the Eventbrite website

Having already hosted 34 World Championships (1986-2019), the iconic Lakeside stage will see 48 men and 24 women compete for the title of 2022 WDF World Champions. In addition, both boys and girls will have the opportunity to lift trophies aloft on a finals day that will see all four WDF World Champions crowned on Sunday 10th April.

A total of 78 players from 19 countries will compete for a share of the £300,000 prize fund, which includes record breaking figures for women's darts and a £25,000 winners cheque.

The tournament gets underway with a quick fire opening weekend, featuring 24 first round matches. Drama is guaranteed (not to mention plenty of walk ons!) as qualifiers from all over the world battle it out, on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April.

Lakeside legend Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams returns to the stage he has made his own, to make his 27th World Championship appearance since his debut in 1994. The 3-time world champion takes on exciting young debutant Jarred Cole in what is sure to be a thrilling opener to the tournament.

Two-time reigning champion 'Miracle' Mikuru Suzuki returns from Japan to defend her world title, with an eagerly anticipated encounter against England’s Laura Turner to conclude the first round. Former Lakeside finalists Rhian O’Sullivan and Corrine Hammond also begin their campaigns on the opening weekend.

The second round begins on Monday 4th April where the seeded players begin their campaigns, including 3-time ladies champion Anastasia Dobromyslova. Men's top seed Brian Raman, former Lakeside semi finalist Richard Veenstra and teenage sensation Luke Littler are also in action.

Tuesday features the 2020 men's World Champion, Wayne Warren, who will be hoping to take the new WDF trophy back to Wales. Wednesday will see WDF No.1 Deta Hedman and 2019 finalist Lorraine Winstanley making their entrances upon the Lakeside stage.

Thursday 7th April will no doubt be a dramatic day, with the completion of the women's second round and the men's third round. Quarter Finals day is always special atmosphere and Friday 8th now features an all-day ticket where all 8 matches can be enjoyed.

Saturday 9th see the Boys semi finals added to the Lakeside stage schedule for the first time, which includes 2019 World Youth Champion Leighton Bennett. Both women's and men's semi finals will be played on what is all set to be a Super Saturday.
