With plans firmly in place for the remainder of 2021 leading up to the World Darts Federation's flagship events, we can confirm the full qualification criteria for the Lakeside WDF World Championships, set to be staged on Saturday 1st to Sunday 9th January 2022 at the Lakeside Country Club, Frimley Green, England.
Men's and Women's invitations will be based on the WDF main and regional rankings tables following the conclusion of the 2021 WDF World Masters on Sunday 5th December, plus all Platinum/Gold event winners.
The Men's and Women's World Championship qualifiers will be played on Monday 6th December in Assen, where a further 4 Men and 2 Women will qualify.
The 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships will consist of a total of 48 Men, 24 Women, 4 Boys and 2 Girls.
The Lakeside qualification criteria is summarised below and can be viewed in full by clicking HERE.
Should less than 48 Men and/or less than 24 Women qualify through the above criteria, the next highest ranked player(s) in the WDF Main Ranking Tables will also qualify.
In the unlikely scenario that more than 48 men and/or more than 24 women qualify through the above criteria, additional preliminary round matches will be played as a part of the Lakeside World Championships.
Following the qualifying tournaments played in Assen on Sunday 5 December, four Boys will qualify for Lakeside. They will compete in the semi-finals on Saturday 8 January and the winners will contest the Boys World Championship final on Sunday 9 January.
For the first time, a separate World Youth Championship for Girls will be played. The top two Girls from the qualifying tournament will compete on finals day at Lakeside for the first ever Girls World Championship title.
The hard work continues to ensure that the WDF World Masters at the Bonte Wever in Assen and the iconic Lakeside World Championships will provide players and fans alike with an experience to remember.
