Hannes Schnier and Greta Tekauer took home the top titles at the Lakitelek Classic as they ensured the weekend finished with four different senior champions.
Schnier denies Kadar in last-leg decider
In June 2023, Hannes Schnier won his first two WDF ranking titles in Hungary. Eight months on, it proved a happy hunting ground for 'The Ram' once again as he won his third title in the Men's Lakitelek Classic.
Austrian international Schnier made largely light work of the early stages, recording three 4-0 wins on route to the semi-finals.
There, the 46-year-old had too much for top seed Moreno Blom, beating him 4-1 with a 79.31 average.
That set up a final meeting with Romania's Laszlo Kadar, who'd got seven darts into a perfect leg in his 4-3 semi-final win over Lakitelek Masters champion Sybren Gijbels.
The final was a dramatic affair, featuring four breaks of throw.
The first went the way of Schnier, who took out 83 in two darts to take an early 2-0 lead.
Kadar responded strongly, sandwiching a 14-dart hold between a 98 checkout and a match-best 13-darter to lead 3-2.
Schnier immediately broke back to level the scores and from there it all went with throw, Schnier sealing a 5-4 victory on double 16.
The Austrian, who won a Bronze medal in the Pairs at last year's WDF World Cup, finished with an 86.6 average and 50% success on the doubles.

Fifth time lucky for Tekauer
Greta Tekauer took a big step forward in her career last year, reaching four senior WDF finals.
Each of those was without a title at the end of them but she made it fifth time lucky in her native Hungary, winning the Lakitelek Classic in resounding fashion.
Having beaten Alexandra Bogar in the semi-finals, Tekauer faced a final meeting with Czechia's Anna Votavová.
Votavová had won the last meeting between these two but she couldn't lay a finger on Tekauer this time round, the Hungarian running out a 5-0 winner with a 66.5 average.

Just as was the case in Saturday's Lakitelek Masters, the two Youth titles in the Lakitelek Classic went the way of Hungarian talents.
The Boys title was won by 16-year-old Robert Vadas, who averaged 77.16 in a 4-1 win over Laszlo Berki.
Krisztina Turai doubled up in the Girls tournaments, once again taking the title thanks to a pair of 3-1 victories.
