Van der Velden downs Dee to win 2023 WDF Boys World Championship

15-year-old Bradley van der Velden beat Ireland’s Adam Dee in straight sets to win the 2023 CT1 WDF Lakeside Boys World Championship.

Following on from his compatriot Bradly Roes’ victory in this tournament last year, van der Velden raced through the opening set 3-0, sealing it with a 76 finish.

Dee got more into it in the second set, winning the first two legs before squandering a host of doubles to level it up going into the break. Van der Velden punished him with a 17-darter, and then pinned double one to move 2-0 up in sets.

Coming back from the break it was all one-way traffic, with van der Velden winning the third set 3-0 to a seal a 3-0 victory with a 69.93 average.
