The World Darts Federation is pleased to announce the details of two Executive appointments, one to fill the vacant position of the WDF President, and the other is the creation of a new Executive position being the WDF Tournament Director.
WDF President – Mr Bill Hatter (Canada)
Bill Hatter has been actively involved in dart administration since 1986. He began coaching youth darts in his local community and has continuously expanded his volunteer efforts to serve on his provincial board in many different capacities including serving as the Darts Alberta President since 2003. With the vast experience gained in dealing with government bureaucracy, gaining provincial sport recognition and securing provincial funding, Bill continued to expand his volunteer efforts on the national level by serving as the President of the National Darts
Federation of Canada since 2007 with the goal of getting darts recognized by Sport Canada.
Bill was an integral member of the project team responsible for creating the National Dart Coaching Program–a thriving initiative that has trained over 75 dart coaches across Canada. Bill’s persistence and perseverance will undoubtedly lead to cutting through the red tape necessary to achieving sport recognition in Canada.
Bill’s volunteer efforts have definitely not gone unrecognized. He is a life member of the National Darts Federation of Canada and a recipient of the 2009 Alberta Sport Recreation Parks and Wildlife Foundation Volunteer of the Year Award.
With his vast experience in darts administration gained throughout the years, Bill looks forward to serving as the President of the World Darts Federation.
WDF Tournament Director – Mr Roy Price (Norway)
Roy has been active in darts administration for over 30 years. Starting as a County Secretary he served as National Team Manager and on the Norwegian Executive before becoming Norwegian President, a position he held for 6 years. He later served on the WDF European Council during which time he served as President for two years.
Roy decided not to seek re-election this year and intended to retire after 10 years on the Executive including the last 6 years as WDF President. However, he has accepted an appointment as Tournament Director maintaining his involvement with overseeing the setting up and management of WDF Cups and other major tournaments that may be established in the future.
