General Meeting
The annual General Meeting of the WDF was held September 20 2016 in Hotel Zuiderduin in Egmond aan Zee. Representatives of 27 members attended the meeting.
Egypt was welcomed as a full member. Macau was granted an interim membership as no representative attended the General Meeting. The membership application of Taiwan was withdrawn as two different parties are contesting to be the rightful representative.
The General Meeting agreed on the removal of the 65% rule (Bye Law 7.05 (6) and (8)). The removal of this rule only applies on the WDF eligibility and will not interfere with a member body requirements regarding players qualifying criteria.
After an extensive discussion an amended remit from Turkey was carried by majority vote. Youth players can play with the adults in a WDF World Cup or WDF Area Cup. If a Youth Cup is held on the same date(s) as the WDF World Cup or Area Cup, the player can only play in one Cup, either the Youth Cup or the Cup for adult players.
The General Meeting also agreed with the remit from Sweden, that all play during the Europe Cup Youth will be played in the Round Robin format (singles, doubles and teams).
Taina Nurmela and Buddy Bartoletta were re-elected as Sports Administrator and Vice President. Sijmon Timmers was elected as Secretary General.
The Area councils will be asked to give a report in writing at least 30 days before a General Meeting.
The next General Meeting will be held in Kobe Japan in conjunction with the 2017 WDF World Cup.

2017 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods published
WADA published the 2017 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods.
The List – which designates what substances and methods are prohibited both in- and out-of-competition, and which substances are banned in particular sports – was approved by the Executive Committee on 21 September and comes into force on 1 January 2017.
It should be noted that, for athletes who have a legitimate medical reason for using a prohibited substance or method that is on the List, they can be accommodated via the International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions (ISTUE), which has overwhelming acceptance from athletes, physicians and anti-doping stakeholders worldwide. WDF World Rankings system 2016

World Darts Federation Approve First Lighting System in Partnership with Target Darts
The Vision 360 lighting system by Target Darts has been approved by the World Darts Federation for use across all WDF competitive events.
As the approved lighting system for World Dart Federation events, across its 69 member countries, this is the first endorsement of its kind for equipment other than the dart board. The approval will ensure lighting consistency throughout more than 10,000 events held annually across the world.
Bill Hatter, President of the World Darts Federation, explained, “The WDF has tested and reviewed the Target Vision 360 lighting system. After reviewing the report on the rigorous testing of the system it was a unanimous decision that the WDF would proudly endorse this product and look forward to a continued partnership with Target Darts.
It’s apparent that the lighting system will enhance any level of play by the simple fact it provides a clear and consistent illumination of the dart board to players and score keepers.”
Target’s Vision 360 launched in November 2015 and uses 125 individual LED lights to provide 360 degree vision and remove shadows from the dartboard. Constructed from solid steel and shaped to angle light directly onto the dartboard, any glare or distraction is averted from the players’ eyes. The Titan dartboard locking bracket securely locks the dart board to the wall with adjustable feet to allow for uneven surfaces and easy dartboard rotation.
Bill continued, “We feel that this product will complement any dart board environment whether it be recreational or competitive in nature.”

The approval is now live so all organisations playing within the World Darts Federation can use the Vision 360 in play with immediate effect.
