Dear darts friends,

The new year is well upon us and I am looking forward to what promises to be an exciting year for the world of darts. As you have probably already seen from our website, the WDF calendar is packed with a whole range of tournaments and events from all around the globe, including the WDF World Cup and General Meeting which will take place from Oct 7-12th in Romania. Further details and official invitations will be forwarded in due course.

I would like to this opportunity to welcome our newest additions to the WDF global membership, namely, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Croatia and Slovenia. I am pleased to announce that we can look forward to receiving even more applications from countries wishing to join us in the coming months.

Meanwhile the WDF Board are actively pursuing the action plans laid out in our last General Meeting, both short and long term. These include the re-launch of the WDF Players’ Commission, the introduction of the WDF Ethics Commission and the WDF Anti-Doping Player Consent Form. There are also some other significant courses of action being undertaken at the moment; more details of which will be disclosed in a separate communique.

As you can see we are also striving to improve the information flow within the organisation, such as by means of a regular newsletter and making our website even more user friendly. We kindly invite all members to contact the WDF secretary should you wish to submit content or general feedback.

For now, let me wish you all the very best for 2019 and every success in your tournaments, big and small. Good darts!

Mr. Bill Hatter
WDF President

Ethics Commission – call for nominations

In compliance with recent requirements set out by GAISF and AIMS, the WDF has created its own Code of Ethics and is therefore now establishing an Ethics Commission to ensure the ethical standards set in this new code are properly applied. The Commission shall comprise a total of up to five delegates, and will report any breach of the present code to the Integrity Officer (currently the Secretary General), with a view to an investigation and possible disciplinary action by the WDF.

We would therefore like to invite all member bodies to submit nominations for a position on this Ethics Commission, which will be selected under procedures determined by the WDF
Executive. Please note that these positions are only open to WDF full member bodies in good standing (i.e. not open to interim or associate members). For further details on the nomination procedure and requirements, please contact the  WDF Secretary via WDF Contact Form – select General.

WDF Players’ Commission – call for nominations

There have been several requests forwarded to the executive to reanimate the WDF Players’ Commission, and so we are therefore issuing a call for nominations.

What is the Players’ Commission?
As the name suggests, its main purpose is to provide a channel of communication whereby internationally active players will have a formal role in decision-making processes within the WDF. More details can be taken from the WDF Website.

We would therefore like to invite all member bodies to submit nominations for a position on this Players’ Commission, which will be selected under procedures determined by the WDF
Executive. For further details on the nomination procedure and requirements, please contact the  WDF Secretary via WDF Contact Form – select General.
