As we approach our biggest ever WDF World Cup (with over 50 countries and almost 500 players taking part!), we are happy to confirm that our refereeing team in Romania will be Richard Ashdown, Jacques Nieuwlaat & Nick Rolls.

Richard will be hosting his 12th consecutive WDF Cup, having made his debut with us at the 2008 Europe Cup in Copenhagen. The man from England that we all know as “Little Richard” will bring his own special blend of statistics and charisma to our stage, from opening the show to presenting the Cups to the champions.

Jacques is making a welcome return to the World Cup, having missed out in Japan two years ago. Jacques and Richard have formed a unique hosting partnership for WDF darts over the past 11 years and we know that the Dutchman will delight us all once again with his inimitable opening and closing ceremony routine.

The third member of our stage team is appearing at his third consecutive World Cup. Nick is the most experienced match referee in WDF darts, having overseen the last 12 World Championships at the Lakeside. The Englishman couldn’t be more respected by players and officials alike and we’re lucky to have him on the team.

Along with their stage duties, our referees will also be overseeing the ‘floor’ action across 64 boards. All under the guidance of WDF Tournament Director Arjan de Waal who will no doubt ensure that everything runs smoothly for every player.

With the WDF Executive, the Romanian Darts Federation and their volunteer officials all set for action, we know this will be a World Cup to remember!
