Lakeside WDF World Championships – Men’s schedule confirmed

Following the rescheduling of the 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships to Saturday 2nd to Sunday 10th April, the World Darts Federation can now confirm the playing field and schedule for the men’s competition, broadcast live on Eurosport and Discovery+.

Lakeside WDF World Championships April 2022 Update

The World Darts Federation, together with hosts and sponsors the Lakeside Country Club and broadcast partners Eurosport/Discovery+, are pleased to announce that the full playing schedule for the Women’s Lakeside World Championship has been confirmed and will be played between Saturday 2 and Sunday 10 April 2022. With the ladies’ field extended to 24 players for the first time, competitors from 12 different nations will compete at 'the home of world darts' for a record breaking £25,000 first prize.

Lakeside WDF World Championships 2022 - Rescheduled

The World Darts Federation, together with hosts and sponsors the Lakeside Country Club have made the difficult decision to postpone the WDF World Championships scheduled to take place from 1st to 9th January, due to growing concerns and potential government restrictions relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. In cooperation with our broadcast partners Eurosport/Discovery+, the tournament dates have been set for three months later, with Lakeside 2022 now being held from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 10th April. Details relating to the tournament draw and playing schedule will be clarified in due course.

Lakeside 2022 - Playing Schedule Confirmed

The full playing schedule has been confirmed for the 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships. Broadcast live across the Eurosport and Discovery+ network from Saturday 1st to Sunday 9th January, 78 players will grace the iconic Lakeside stage in the hope of becoming a WDF World Champion. New Years Day sees the party begin in Frimley Green, with Lakeside legend Martin 'Wolfie' Adams opening proceedings in what will be his 27th World Championship appearance since his debut in 1994.

2022 WDF Lakeside World Championships draws confirmed

Wayne Warren will open his 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championship campaign against either Lee Shewan or Jordan Brooks as he looks to become a World Champion for the second time in his career. Defending women’s champion Mikuru Suzuki will face former British Classic Champion Laura Turner in her opening match of the tournament, with the winner facing fourth seed Aileen de Graaf.

Players Confirmed – 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships

The World Darts Federation are delighted to confirm the 48-man and 24-woman fields for the 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships. The draw will take place on Tuesday 7th December and will be broadcast on the WDF’s new YouTube channel at 19:00 (UK time). Invitations were sent to the top ranked players and the winners of platinum/gold events following the completion of the 2021 season, with the final qualification competitions taking place in both Assen and Frimley Green on Sunday 5th December.
