The Draw and Playing Schedule

The qualification period for the 2023 WDF World Championships ends on Monday, October 30th. As there are ranking tournaments right up until the day before that cut-off, we won’t know our final field of players until then.

As such, we will be conducting the draw for all four tournaments at the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships on Wednesday, November 1st. The draws will be broadcast on the WDF’s YouTube channel.

The playing schedule will then be finalised by the WDF team and released to the public by no later than Friday, November 3rd.

The first weekend of Lakeside 2023, December 2nd and 3rd, will see all of the non-seeded players in the Men’s and Women’s tournaments in action. In the afternoon and evening sessions of both days there will be four Men’s tournament matches and two Women’s tournament matches.

The 16 Men’s seeds and 8 Women’s seeds enter their respective tournaments in the second round. The Men’s second round will be playing from Monday, December 4th through to Wednesday, December 6th, while the Women’s matches will be played from Monday, December 4th to Thursday, December 7th inclusive.

The Men’s last 16 will play across Wednesday evening and Thursday ahead of the quarter-finals in the Men’s and Women’s tournaments being played on Friday, December 8th.

Saturday, December 9th will be Semi-Final Saturday, as we determine the finalists in the Men’s, Women’s and Boys competitions.

Lakeside 2023 will then draw to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, December 10th as we crown four champions in the Men’s, Women’s, Boys and Girls events.

A list of the players already qualified and or the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships, as well as a guide to how the remaining places will be filled is available on our dedicated Players List page.

Broadcasting

Having explored all of the available options for broadcasting the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships, the WDF Promotions team have implemented a different, hybrid strategy to maximise the exposure of this year’s showpiece events.

We’re proud to say that we’ll be streaming the entire event live on our YouTube channel, meaning that for the first time in the tournament’s history, anyone with an internet connection will be able to see all nine days of action for free from wherever they are in the world.

We can also confirm that the tournament will be available to view on Ayozat TV, which is Sky Channel 186 in the UK, as well as Fubo TV and Swerve Sports in the USA.

The final three days of the tournament, encompassing the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, will be broadcast on further outlets and it is hoped that we are going to be able to confirm these deals in the coming weeks.

Having the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships on all of these platforms means that this year’s tournament has its widest reach ever. We feel that we’re moving with the times and that with a bigger reach, the easier it is for us to sustain and grow the tournament worldwide in the years to come.
