Aurora Fochesato will get the chance to defend her WDF Girls World Championship later this year after coming through today's Budapest Qualifier.
In the tougher side of the draw, the 18-year-old Italian began her campaign with an impressive 4-2 win over Ireland's Rebecca Allen before whitewashing Alivia Farrell and Ida Hansen.
A 4-1 win over Ruby Grey moved Fochesato into the quarter-finals, where she accounted for compatriot and Girls World Masters finalist Nicole Sescu Gal 4-2.
That setup a meeting with Austria's Anna-Lena Kutej in the final playoff round. Evenly poised for the most part, Fochesato had more quality down the stretch and pinned a 106 out to triumph 5-3.
Completing the Girls World Championship field is Belgium's Jentl Fransen, who took the second spot available in the Hungarian capital.
Fransen's campaign nearly ended in its early salvoes, with the 15-year-old surviving match darts against Taylor Field in her opening game of the day.
Subsequent wins over Canadian pair Calla Badham and Calie Penney moved the Antwerp Open Girls champion into the quarter-finals, where she produced an 18-darter in the deciding leg to beat England's Lilly Wheeler.
In a nervy final game with Finland's Iida Lanko, Fransen missed match darts to win 5-3 before sealing the deal in the deciding leg.
