Fallon Sherrock has withdrawn from the Lakeside WDF World Championships in April. Priscilla Steenbergen from the Netherlands now comes into the 24-woman field as the highest ranked WDF player at the end of 2021 not already qualified.
Modus Sports Management have made the following statement.
We are saddened to advise that Fallon Sherrock will not be participating in the WDF Lakeside World Championship in April. This is by no means a reflection on the WDF. We would like to thank them for the original invitation and wish them well with their tournament.
The highest ranked player at the end of 2021 not already seeded was Corrine Hammond and she will now advance to round two, replacing the 2nd seed Fallon Sherrock in the draw. In place of Hammond, Darlene van Sleeuwen will now face WDF World No.20 Priscilla Steenbergen.
Amended matches in the Lakeside schedule are as follows.
Saturday 2nd April
7:40pm – Darlene van Sleeuwen (Can) v Priscilla Steenbergen (Ned)
Monday 4th April
8pm - Corrine Hammond (Aus) v Paula Jacklin (Eng) or Rhian O’Sullivan (Wal)
