Last World Cup for the Dutch Crown! Francis Hoenselaar

Francis Hoenselaar announced that the next World Cup in Ireland will be her last event for the Dutch team. The ‘Dutch Crown’ made her debut in the Dutch team exactly twenty years ago during the World Cup 1991 in the Netherlands, where she managed to achieve the third place in the singles tournament.

Hoenselaar became a constant factor for the Dutchies. She won no less than five European Championships (single, 1996, 2004 and 2010, couples with Karin Krappen in 2000 and 2002) and was also successful during several World Cups (couples with Valery Matum 1993 and in 2001 single, overall and couples with Mieke de Boer). Also in the individual tournaments the most important prices are not missing in her trophy case. She won three times the Winmau World Master (1999, 2006 and 2008), the World Darts Trophy 2004 and last but not least the prestigious Lakeside World Professional in 2009.

After the World Cup in Ireland, Hoenselaar will not play again for the Dutch selection, but she will remain active in the dartssport. The Dutch Darts Association wants to thank Francis for her dedication to the Dutch team. In last twenty years she has been a great value for the team and also ladies darts in general. We hope that Francis can expand her roll of honour during the World Cup in Ireland.
