The Draw
The qualification period for the 2024 WDF World Championships ends on Monday, October 28th. As there are ranking tournaments right up until the day before that cut-off, we won’t know our final field of players until then.
To ensure that the draw is as representative of the final field as possible, it will be conducted on Tuesday, November 5th and will be broadcast on the WDF YouTube Channel.
The current provisional fields for all four tournaments are documented on the WDF website.
Playing Schedule and Format
The playing schedule will then be finalised by the WDF team and released to the public by no later than Friday, November 8th.
In an adaptation from previous years to maximise the live fan experience, the WDF World Championships will now begin on a Friday evening (November 29th) with four first round matches in the Men’s competition.
The first two winners on Friday will return to the iconic Lakeside stage on the evening of Saturday, November 30th as we incorporate some of the Men’s Last 32 into the weekend action.
The sessions on the opening weekend will compromise five matches, each with three in the Men’s World Championship and two in the Women’s.
The Women’s Last 16 will begin on Monday, with the Men finalising the first round on Monday evening, second round on Wednesday evening and third round on Thursday evening.
The first two Boys World Championship quarter-finals will take place on Thursday, December 5th, with the other two and all eight quarter-finals in the Men’s and Women’s tournaments taking place on Friday, December 6th.
Saturday, December 7th will be Semi-Final Saturday, as we determine the finalists in the Men’s, Women’s, Boys' and Girls' competitions.
Lakeside 2024 will then draw to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, December 8th as we crown four champions in the Men’s, Women’s, Boys and Girls events.
The 2024 WDF Lakeside World Championships will have the same playing format as the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships.
