2022 WDF Lakeside World Championships draws confirmed

Wayne Warren will open his 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championship campaign against either Lee Shewan or Jordan Brooks as he looks to become a World Champion for the second time in his career. Defending women’s champion Mikuru Suzuki will face former British Classic Champion Laura Turner in her opening match of the tournament, with the winner facing fourth seed Aileen de Graaf.

Players Confirmed – 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships

The World Darts Federation are delighted to confirm the 48-man and 24-woman fields for the 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships. The draw will take place on Tuesday 7th December and will be broadcast on the WDF’s new YouTube channel at 19:00 (UK time). Invitations were sent to the top ranked players and the winners of platinum/gold events following the completion of the 2021 season, with the final qualification competitions taking place in both Assen and Frimley Green on Sunday 5th December.

Invitation List – 2022 Lakeside WDF World Championships

Following the completion of the final WDF ranking events in Italy and Russia, the World Darts Federation have formally sent invitations to 44 men and 22 women to compete at the 2022 Lakeside World Championships. The winners of 9 platinum/gold events and the top ranked players in each of the 8 WDF regional tables are guaranteed a place upon the Lakeside stage, with the line ups completed by those placed highest in the main WDF world ranking lists.

WDF World Open Cancelled, Two Qualifying Competitions For Lakeside

Following the news that additional corona virus measures have been announced in the Netherlands, the WDF and the NDB have taken the decision to cancel the World Open, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday 4 December 2021 at the Bonte Wever in Assen. The WDF, the NDB and the EDO have taken the decision to host two World Championship qualifying competitions, both to be held on Sunday 5 December. In addition to the previously announced qualifying competitions in the Netherlands in the Bonte Wever, a qualifying competition will also take place at the Lakeside Country Club in England. Players from across the world may participate in either tournament.

Lakeside WDF World Championships Tickets - January 2022

Brought to you by the World Darts Federation, the new year will see a welcome return of televised darts to the Lakeside Country Club. Broadcast live across the Eurosport and Discovery+ network from Saturday 1st to Sunday 9th January, we invite you to be part of the WDF World Championships and it's unique atmosphere at "the Home of World Darts, the Lakeside!" Having already hosted 34 World Championships (1986-2019), the iconic Lakeside stage will see 48 men and 24 women compete for the title of 2022 WDF World Champions. In addition, both boys and girls will have the opportunity to lift trophies aloft on a finals day that will see all four WDF World Champions crowned on Sunday 9th January.
