2020 began with the launch of a new World Darts Federation rankings system, before mid-March saw the Covid-19 global pandemic bring the sport of darts to a halt. Play may have stopped, but the hard work continues in collaboration with our member nations to finalise a definitive WDF rankings structure for 2021.
On behalf of the World Darts Federation, we hope that players, officials and supporters are staying safe and keeping well during this time. We began 2020 full of optimism and by making our intentions clear. Our aim was to revamp the world ranking system and to implement the running of
Darts. It’s in our DNA. We’ve been obsessing about darts since the 1970s, when John McCormick created Puma Darts and started a revolution, making darts more accurate, accessible and fun.
Following consultation between the WDF Executive and the respective host nations, the decision has been made to cancel the WDF Americas Cup, Asia/Pacific Cup and Europe Cup for 2020.
With all things considered in relation to the current global COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided that the WDF Europe Cup Youth tournament, originally scheduled for 8-12 July 2020 in Hungary is to be cancelled.
